CS373 Spring 2022: Luca Santos

  1. What did you do this past week?
This past week I worked on finishing up Phase 3 with my group. Most of the work I did this past stage was geared towards implementing filtering, searching and sorting on our frontend, as well as remaking our Selenium tests. Besides that I did a lot of combing through the rubric requirements, planning out issues, and writing up some of the tech doc as well as our user stories.
  2. What’s in your way?
I’ve been a little anxious lately; don’t know what to do about that yet :)
  3. What will you do next week?
Start work on our final phase, as well as my Symbolic programming assignment.
  4. What did you think of Paper 12. Why extends is evil?
This paper seemed to explore many of the concepts introduced in earlier papers relating to modularity, extendibility and maintainability. At its core it explains how interfaces facilitate abstraction which in turn minimize module interdependencies and unexpected behaviors.
  5. What was your experience of natural join and SQL.? (this question will vary, week to week)
These were both concepts that I hadn’t had the opportunity to learn before, so this week’s lectures, and especially the exercises were extremely helpful and insightful.
  6. What made you happy this week?
This week while walking back from the gym I found a big stick that looked like a wizard staff! It made me more happy than it probably should have.
  7. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
If you happen to have your gitHub projects linked on your resume make sure they have a proper README!
